Some women dream about their wedding dress all the way through childhood, and when they grow up they know exactly what they want. A simple wedding dress can be just as beautiful as a traditional and formal wedding dress. The difference is often that these dresses lack the extravagant and (sometimes) cheesiness, of the ballroom dresses, with their 6 foot trails and over-the-top tiaras. The beauty comes from the simplicity it self, and of course the bride wearing the dress.

Designer dresses can also be simple

Many of the top wedding dress designers also create simple dresses. Vera Wang has several of them in her collections, often sleeveless dresses, going all the way to the floor, with detailed beading. Another top designer is J. Crew, who has several trendy and beautiful simple wedding gowns in their collection. The tiered tara gown is a great example of one of their dresses that fits just about any bride out there.

Perfect for a hot location

The gown you use for your wedding will probably be chosen at least slightly based on your wedding location. If you are planning a summer wedding on the beach, a simple wedding dress is perfect. For starters you won’t have to be worried that your dress will be dragged through the sand. On the other hand these dresses are usually much lighter than traditional dresses, which means that you won’t be ending up passing out from the heat.
