It is no secret that raising children can be a full time job.   Most parents can relay a horror story or two about the juggling of work, school, soccer practice and homework.   All the benefits that the modern world seems to present have not helped the issue either.  You would think that having a television around for your kids would present you with an opportunity to relax however, truth be told it is really just more work and worry for you.  Sure kids can come home from school, sit quietly in front of the T.V. for a couple of hours, and give you some much needed R and R but, does it really allow you to relax?  Of course not, you are probably worried about what they are watching and if they are getting enough exercise.  You, like all parents know that all that sedentary activity is not healthy either mentally or physically for children.  Parents know that children need to be challenged physically and mentally to grow up healthy.  The parent then is left in a rather precarious situation.  What is he/she to do with limited time and limited resources?  The answer may be lying in your own back yard.

The seasons change and trends come and go but two things that remain constant with kids is that they love pools and toys.  By combining the two, you may be able to solve a lot of your concerns about keeping your kids healthy while keeping them busy and having fun.  When you are buying pool toys this year try to focus on those that promote activity.  You may want to stay away from pool floats and other relaxation items and focus rather, on pool toys that will keep your kids moving and having a great time.   Luckily for you, there have been a ton of new activity pool toys hitting the market every year.  There are pool toys that create a kind of underwater obstacle course.  There are also those classics, like floating basketball nets and floating volleyball nets.  Whatever the pool toy may be, it is probable that your kids will enjoy them all the while getting some much needed exercise.  Quite possibly the best way to keep your kids healthy and feeling good this summer is to fill your pool with the right kinds of toys.  That and make sure they are well supervised of course!
